DEUTSCHE LUFTWAFFE Armband, Late War Issue for German Fliers. Good looking and rare coarse cotton DEUTSCHE LUFTWAFFE Armband that came out in 1944 and was issued to Luftwaffe flight personnel, for them to wear when they were shot down so that they would not be mistaken for downed Allied fliers and shot. These were done in a coarse cotton material such as this and a fine cotton and the design should look just like this. These have a fairly crude look and the copies I have seen are better made than the originals in construction and design. Rare. These originals have certain features not found on the replicas. LH5523
