Named Luftwaffe Pilot’s Badge by Assmann “A” Transitional – Richthofen Squadron. Fantastic badge having a tombac-based wreath and aluminum eagle dating it to circa 1938/39. This piece is named on the reverse to the squadron “Richthofen” where the “R” is even stylized in the form of the squadron unit emblem being a fancy R, and named to the original owner of the badge. This was a famous fighter unit Jagdgeschwader 2 (JG 2) “Richthofen” during WW2 and much can be read about its successes on the internet. A stellar and fantastic badge. LH6993
