SS-Untersturmführer Insignia Set and More Brought Back by US G.I. With Scrapbook. This is the scrapbook of Kenneth W. Clifton from Ohio who graduated High School in 1941 and was in the Citizens Military Training Camps prior to that time. He served in the US Army and the book contains pictures of him, newspaper clippings with one even showing him on his High School football team, postcards, paper documents pertaining to him, some coins and paper money but the most relevant items for collectors of Third Reich items are a set of SS-Untersturmführer Insignia with the Officer Runic Tabs being a bevo runes that was cut from a bevo tab and then applied to a blank officer tab by the original owner in an era-done upgrade with this being most interesting and legitimate. The set also includes a machine embroidered eagle, no doubt removed from the same tunic as the tabs with the eagle being a less encountered pattern as well as two army insignia. You can see where all of this was removed neatly from the scrapbook or simply come loose with the tape losing its adhesive power after 70 years. In one photo I have recreated where the cloth was originally taped to a page. A fantastic set with provenance!! LH8886
